Erika Lopes-McLeman was promoted to partner in Dentons’ Short Hills office. She co-chaired the firm’s U.S. associates committee and was the associate liaison to the firm’s diversity and inclusion committee. In her practice, Lopes-McLeman represents clients in complex commercial disputes, including insurer-side coverage litigations and arbitrations. She was born and raised in Mumbai, India, and grew up traveling the world aboard merchant marine trade vessels, the firm said, noting that she remains an avid international traveler. She is fluent in Hindi and has completed coursework in Marathi, Italian and Arabic. Lopes-McLeman received her J.D. in 2011 from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a senior articles editor for the Seton Hall Circuit Review and a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board. She received her B.A. from Trinity College in 2006. She clerked for New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart J. Rabner, and previously practiced at Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti and at Patton Boggs. She is admitted in New Jersey and New York.
