Biography
Mr. Almonacy is an associate at McOmber McOmber & Luber, P.C. in the firm’s Newark, New Jersey office, where he focuses his practice on employment law and civil litigation. His practice includes matters involving discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims. He firmly believes in workplace equality and is committed to advocating for his clients seeking justice.
Mr. Almonacy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Kean University in 2022. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall Law in 2025. During his time at law school, Mr. Almonacy served as President of the Black Law Student Association and was an active member of the Seton Hall Journal of Legislation and Public Policy. In the journal, Mr. Almonacy served as both an Associate Editor and Comments Editor, working with fellow students on developing material for future publications. He also helped lead an Expungement Clinic through the Center for Social Justice, providing legal assistance to members of the community navigating the expungement process.
While in law school, Mr. Almonacy gained valuable experience across several areas of the legal system. He served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Naazneen B. Khan in Essex County’s Family Division and as a research assistant to Professor Solangel Maldonado, assisting with research for her book, The Architecture of Desire. Mr. Almonacy later joined Calcagni & Kanefsky LLP as a summer associate.
Upon graduation, Mr. Almonacy served as the 2025-2026 Appellate Law Clerk to the Honorable Lorraine M. Augostini. During his clerkship, he reviewed draft judicial opinions, handled emergent appeals involving potential irreparable harm, and analyzed complex legal issues, including whether existing legal principles adequately addressed the matters before the court and whether the development of new precedent was warranted.
Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with family, staying active, and most importantly, never turning down a good meal.
