Biography
Ms. Handelman is an associate at McOmber McOmber & Luber, P.C. in the firm’s Red Bank, New Jersey office. Mr. Jang focuses primarily on employment matters and civil litigation, including discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims. He firmly believes in workplace equality and will fight for the justice his clients deserve.
Ms. Handelman graduated from Gettysburg College summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts she self-designed through the Interdisciplinary Studies Department, combining the subjects of Philosophy, Political Science, and Classical Studies. Ms. Handelman also studied abroad in Bath, UK. Following her graduation, Ms. Handelman attended the Cardozo School of Law on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship.
During law school, Ms. Handelman interned for the Honorable Gia L. Morris of the NY Supreme Court, Criminal Term. The following summer, Ms. Handelman had the opportunity to intern at the Maui County Department of the Corporation Counsel, where she assisted in litigation stemming from the 2023 Lahaina Wildfires. Ms. Handelman also externed for the New York City Law Department, drafting two successful appellate briefs, and externed at the Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice. In addition, Ms. Handelman participated in the International Moot Court Competition in Law and Religion, plus served on the Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights and Social Justice for two years. Ms. Handelman’s Note, centering on the transportation needs of New Jerseyans with Autism and Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities, was selected for publication within Volume 31, Issue 3.
Following graduation, Ms. Handelman worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jeffrey R. Brown, J.S.C. at the New Jersey Superior Court – Middlesex Vicinage. In this position, Ms. Handelman was responsible for motion practice and managed the numerous dockets assigned to her Chambers. Ms. Handelman also frequently served as a mediator for litigants within her own Chambers as well as for the greater courthouse.
In her free time, Ms. Handelman enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling to new places, and supporting the New York Mets.
